About Me
My heart has always been in the counselling space. I have completed the Humanitas Counselling Course, which included 220 hours of practical experience, and hold an Honours Degree in Psychology from the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).
My journey has, however included a few unexpected and incredibly enriching turns along the way. I worked in Marketing and developed a strong creative and strategic mindset.
Now, as a Specialist Wellness Counsellor, I draw on these skills I gained to support my passion for creating a safe and grounded space for my clients. The structure, clarity, and confidence I developed in my previous work now help me show up with intention, organisation, and care in my counselling practice.
Scope of Practice
As a Specialist Wellness Counsellor, I use a person-centred approach, offering a safe and supportive space for emotional wellness, self-exploration, and personal growth. This approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and genuine human connection. You are at the centre of the process. Your thoughts, feelings, and experiences guide our work together, with space to be heard, understood, and supported.

As an ASCHP-registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor, my role is supportive and focused on mental and emotional well-being. I offer guidance, practical coping strategies, and emotional regulation tools to help you navigate life’s challenges in a grounded and meaningful way.
The difference between counsellors registered with the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners (ASCHP) & Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA):
-
ASCHP-registered wellness counsellors, such as myself, focus on emotional wellness, personal development, and supportive counselling. Their work centres on helping individuals navigate life challenges, develop coping skills, build self-awareness, and strengthen emotional well-being.
-
HPCSA-registered practitioners often work with more complex or severe mental health conditions that require clinical intervention. HPCSA Psychologists, Counsellors, and psychiatrists work within a clinical and medical framework, and can offer: psychological assessments, diagnosis of mental health disorders, and, in the case of psychiatrists, the prescription of medication.
